(gguro) 2017. 4. 18. 14:13[Book] The Rosie project (by Graeme Simsion): Extraordinary love story
I borrowed the book and the CDs of the audiobook of 'The Rosie project.' In the end, I didn't even open the cover of the book because I listened to the whole story from the CDs while driving.
In a word, it's fascinating! Extraordinary!
Title: The Rosie project
Author: Graeme Simsion
1. Summary
A weird professor, Don, is trying to find his wife, so he started a project called 'Wife project.' He made a list of questions to be used to screen the candidates prior to meeting them in order to save his time. Of course most of the women thought it was very unpleasant to be screened by a questionnaire.
In the meantime, he met a girl called Rosie, a bartender, who was totally unacceptable as his wife according to his criteria. But things happened as you can expect.
They tried together to find her biological father, and they even flew to New York from Melbourne to obtain test samples of some candidates.
Well, yes. Eventually they got married. No surprise in that sense. But on the way to their marriage, it was filled with amazing experience.
2. My comments
I definitely recommend this book! It's written in a hilarious way. It's carefully managed not to violate any sensitive issues, yet very funny. I'm sure you would burst out laughing many times.
I enjoyed the narrative of Don and the development of the relation between Don and Rosie even though it was expected. The contrast between Don and his best friend Gene is also amusing. In addition, the location of the story made it more enjoyable simply because it's where I live now. Melbourne is blessed to have this author.
Great book!
