언젠가 내 마음 속으로 이런 기도를 한 적이 있었다. 하나님 나에게 사랑할 수 있는 힘을 주셔서 나를 사랑하고도 그 힘이 남아서 내 아내와 자식을 사랑할 수 있게 해 주시고 그리고도 조금 더 사랑할 수 있는 힘이 남아서 내 이웃을 사랑할 수 있게 해 주소서 한 동안 잊어버리고 지냈던 기도인데, 지난 주 설교 말씀이 이와 비슷한 내용이어서 이 기도가 다시 생각났다. 설교 내용을 요약해 보자면,(2007년) 자기 자신을 위해 사는 사람이 있고, 자기 가족을 위해 사는 사람이 있으며, (자식을 구하기 위해 목숨을 던지는 부모의 이야기) 자기 이웃을 위해 사는 사람이 있으며, 자기 나라를 위해 사는 사람이 있으며, (잔다르크, 유관순) 전 세계를 위해 사는 사람이 있다.
